Cape Verde 15 November

Marlin fishing is pretty slow right now. There are Tuna around on San Antao but no boats are fishing.

Doña Pi did some jigging during their last trip on Sao Vicente and San Antao. They caught several nice Amberjacks up to 40 kg and plenty of smaller fish,too.

Ascension Island Nov. 2010

The Harmattan crew is still fishing another 3 weeks searching for a real big Blue. So far the biggest they have seen was 900 lb. There are not many Blues around but they know that on acension any day the fish of your lifetime can show up. There are also big yellowfin around and quiet often they get the 200+ tuna on livebaits.

Cape Verde 01 Sptember

Only few boats have been fishing in august. There were not big numbers of Blues but the average size was really good with several fish over 600 been hooked and caught. Weather was perfect as usual during this time.
Smoker did some jigging for a few days with good result, plenty of fish and 3 really big amberjacks have been lost.

Canary Islands 31 August

After a pretty slow season the last week showed great fishing on Gran Canaria. During the Pasito Blanco tournament 31 Blues have been caught, all released but one fish weighed of 930 lb. Several fish of 700 plus have been released. 6 days ago one boat weighed in a 950 lb Blue and today onother boat released one which they called 1000 +.
Hope the fishing stays like this a bit longer.

Cape Verde 01 August

After a 10 days break Smoker is out again. Michael from Austria caught his first Blue Marlin a 600 pounder on his first day! We fished in the north, weather is fine and conditions are looking good.

cape Verde 19 July

The last 2 days the fishing was not to hot. We fished San Antao, the whole chanel , the bank of San Pedro and the deep water in the south of San Vicente.
We only got 2 bites, one of the fish was a 500 pounder, Heinz had him on for 20 minutes and saw some great jumps close to the boat before pulling the hook.

We have again a few days off before fishing again beginning of august.

Cape Verde 16 July

Heinz, Sven and Fin from Germany are fishing with us at the. SAn Nicolau had some great fishing last week, with one boat hooked 31 Blues in 3 days so we decided to go to this island on tuesday morning right  one hour after the guys have arrived.
On the way 17 year old Fin got his first Marlin , a 450 pounder.
The next day we trolled the south bank of San Nicolau but the fish were gone...no boat got a fish there. We tried the Razo Bank but again nothing.
Today we started early and pulle the hook on a Blue right in the morning.We passed the bankds again but no sign of life, so we went back to San Vicente. Arriving to the north in the late afternoon Sven caught also his first Blue of 450 lb !
Doña Pi fished the south today and pulled the hook on one. Yesterday they went to San Antao and got a 750 lb Blue.
