Cape Verde 30 April

The last 2 days were pretty good fishing in san Pedro. We caught 4 for 7 ! All boats had action.

Peter caught his first Blue Marlin and Bjoern did a great job with stand up tackle and pitchbaiting the Blues.

Cape Verde 29 April

The last 2 days all the boats were fishing in the south of Mindelo.
Yesterday we went 1 for 3 and today 2 for 3. All boats have been seeing Marlin, so I am sure that the fishing continues to be good.
We have Bjoern and Tim Choate as anglers.

Cape Verde 27 April

The last few days the fleet was fishing in different places. There was no spot where it was going off, but we still saw like an average of 2 Blue Marlin a day. On our best day in San Antao we went 3 for 3 and raised 2 more in flat calm water. Bjoern was doing a good job so far catching most of his fish on 50 lb stand up , using pitch bait.
2 days ago one boat had a 4 Blues on on the same time and caught 2 of them , one was a 750 lb.
The Smoker team has caught 25 Blues in 23 days of fishing so far.

Cape Verde 22 April

Yesterday we went 1 for 1 in the south, Helmut caught the fish half an hour before we stopped fishing.
Today Bjoern arrived after a long trip via Lisbon. He will fish the next 14 days. We had a late start but still caught 2 Blue Marlin on stand up tackle.

Cape Verde 20 April

Today we fished in the south again. Perfect weather and we tried the deep water of the San Pedro Bank.We pulled the hook on one Blue Marlin and 15 minutes later Peter caught a 300 pounder. Later in the day we went back to the drop off and raised another Blue of 300 lb. Helmut caught the fish on 50 lb stand up tackle after a good fight with nice jumps close to the boat.
Yesterday we went to the north but never saw a fish.

Cape Verde 18 April

Weather is still perfect ! Today we had a one bite and only saw a big splash.The fish fought deep and finally pulled the hook close to the leader ....might have been a big tuna the fight he fought.Later we raised a 400 lb Blue on the teaser but missed him with the pitch bait.
Yesterday we fished the bank of San Pedro in the south of Mindelo and went 1 for 3. Peter caught his Blue Stand up and later we pulled the hook on another Blue just 1 meter before the leader. That day 3 nice fish of over 600 lb were caught of the rest of the fleet.
On the 16th of april we tried the north, we were on our own , conditions were looking good with nice water and some bait but no fish.
On the 15th we were fishing the deep water of the south, fishing was slow for everyone but we still caught 1 Blue Marlin.

Cape Verde 14 April

The last 2 days we were fishing in the south of Sao Vicente in the deep water.The weather is perfect, no wind. Yesterday we went 0 for 2 , today we were 1 for 2 and raised another one.
